Interpersonal skills have long been recognised as essential to professional success, and many a career has been adversely affected due to a lack of communication skills. Some people seem to have the gift and some don't? Some may have been born with it, but most have practiced and learned from experience. This short course is designed for those who want to improve their people skills and their ability to work with others.

Course content:

• Explain why good communication skills are important.
• Pinpoint what makes communication skills difficult to master. Describe models of and methods for communication.
• Understand how preconceptions and limited perceptions interfere with communication.
• Rephrase blunt phrases to prevent offensiveness.
• Develop an action plan to improve communication skills
